How to play
Every Texas holdem player is dealt two cards face down referred to as pocket cards. Then five community cards are dealt face up and can be used by all players to make their hand. The best five card combination of a player's pocket cards and the community cards win the pot.
Bodog offers several Holdem game types to choose from: Fixed Limit, Pot Limit, and No Limit. The type you choose determines the bet minimum and maximum.
Fixed Limit games have a preset bet and raise amount for every round. If a fixed limit game's stakes are shown as $15/$30 it means that the bets and raises for the first two betting rounds are $15. Thus, you can't bet/raise less or more than $15. The final two betting round's bet/raise amount is $30.
Pot Limit game's maximum bet/raise amount is anything less or equal to the current pot amount. This means that if the pot amount is $80 you are not allowed to bet more than $80.
In a No Limit game, there are no limits on a maximum bet and the minimum bet is the same amount as the big-blind which is described below. In no limit and pot limit, the stakes represent the blind amounts.

Other Concepts
Blinds refer to a required bet made by the first two players who start the betting on each hand. The first player to the left of the dealer will be required to post the small blind and the player to the left of the small blind player will have to post the big blind. In order to participate in the hand a player must match the big blind.
For example, if a game's stakes are listed as $15/$30 then the small blind in a fixed limit game will be half of the small stake rounded down to the nearest dollar or $7. The big blind is equal to small stake or $15.
However, in a $15/$30 pot limit or no limit game the small blind is equal to the small stake or $15 and the big blind is equal to the big stake or $30.

The Game
The dealer is played by each player in turn and is represented by the dealer button. Following every hand, the dealer button rotates clockwise to the next player.
After receiving the pocket cards, the players, beginning with the player positioned to the left of the big blind must choose to call, raise or fold. The betting round finishes once the big blind player checks. All betting rounds begin with the player to the left of the big blind.
The second round of betting begins with the flop when the dealer turns over the first three community cards. The third betting round starts once the fourth community card called the turn card is dealt. The final round of betting begins when the fifth community card called the river card is dealt.
Once all bets are called the last player to bet or raise must reveal his or her cards first. Players' hands are then revealed in a clockwise order unless your hand is a weaker hand than one of those shown. If this occurs you are allowed to muck your cards meaning you can fold them without revealing them. The winner of the pot is the player with the best five-card hand combination made out of the two pocket cards and the five community cards.
